We are delighted to welcome new, and innovative, Brighton folk band Bird in the Belly to our roster. Their debut single ‘Horace in Brighton’ was released last week following its premiere on US folk bible NO DEPRESSION with the accompanying video now on YouTube. [Click on header to cont.].
Formed of alt-folk solo artist Jinnwoo (who we’ve previously had the pleasure of working with), duo Hickory Signals, instrumentalist/producer Tom Pryor and visual artist/musician Epha Roe, Bird in the Belly is not only an impressive collective of folk talent, but as a group they are doing something a little different. For their debut album (coming in 2018), they’ve unearthed old forgotten British stories and made them into folk songs, for a contemporary audience, but with a 60’s folk revival style (aided by production from legendary folk label Fellside Records).
Debut single 'Horace in Brighton' is taken from a poem of the same name written in 1813 about a Londoner’s day trip to Brighton.
